Seedance 2.5 vs Kling 4.0 vs Gemini Omni: Who Wins?

By Abd Almouhimen shamout | November 5, 2026

On paper, no single model wins, but each one has a clear job. Seedance 2.5 wins on control: it makes 30-second clips and takes up to 50 references in one shot. Kling 4.0 is the pick for creators who want an app with a monthly plan: native 30-second video, 10 keyframes and voices in many languages. Gemini Omni wins on access and price: it’s free in Google Vids, and its API costs about $0.10 per second of 720p video.

How I wrote this. This is a facts-only comparison. I didn’t run a hands-on test. Every number comes from the official pages, checked on 3 November 2026, plus a few pricing round-ups where the vendor page couldn’t be read (marked below). When a company has only promised a feature, I say so.

Why this comparison matters

Three big AI video models shipped within a few months of each other, and each says it’s the best:

ModelCompanyLaunch
Seedance 2.5ByteDance (Seed team)Shown June 2026, rolling out in Dreamina from 31 July 2026
Gemini Omni (1.1 Flash)Google DeepMindDeveloper launch 27 August 2026
Kling 4.0KuaishouWorldwide launch 15 October 2026

If you make content or ads, or you’re a developer adding video to a Laravel or Next.js app, you need to know which one fits the job and the budget.

What is Seedance 2.5?

Seedance is ByteDance’s AI video model, built by its research team, ByteDance Seed. ByteDance also makes TikTok and CapCut. Version 2.5 was shown at a ByteDance conference in Beijing in June 2026 and started rolling out in Dreamina, ByteDance’s creative app, at the end of July.

ByteDance calls it an “audio-video joint generation model”. In simple words, it makes the picture and the sound together in one pass, so a door slam lands on the exact frame where the door closes.

Seedance 2.0 made headlines earlier this year for its quality, and also because Hollywood studios complained about copyrighted characters. So 2.5 ships with watermarks, C2PA credentials and stricter filters.

The other two in one line each:

  • Kling 4.0 comes from Kuaishou, a big Chinese short-video company. It launched worldwide on 15 October 2026.
  • Gemini Omni comes from Google DeepMind. Google describes it as “Nano Banana, but for video”: you give it any input (text, images or video), and it makes a video.

Clip length and quality

A note on Seedance and 4K: early news reports said Seedance 2.5 renders native 4K, but ByteDance’s own page doesn’t give a resolution, and today’s API price list stops at 1080p. Treat native 4K as unconfirmed.

My take: if you need long, continuous shots, Seedance and Kling are ahead. If short social clips are enough, Omni is fine.

Control, editing and sound

Seedance 2.5 gives you the most control:

  • Up to 50 references for one clip: images, video, audio and text
  • 3D white models and green-screen editing, so you can block out a scene before the final render

Kling 4.0:

  • Up to 10 keyframes and 15 references, including depth-map and white-model videos to guide the camera
  • Prompts up to 8,000 tokens
  • Voices in many languages, but Arabic is not on Kling’s official list yet (it names Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Hindi, “and more”)

Gemini Omni has the smallest reference limit (video clips of up to 3 seconds), but the friendliest editing. You chat with it: “Make it night.” “Move the camera left.” It changes the same video, turn by turn.

All three generate sound together with the video.

Arabic support (for our Arabic-speaking readers)

If your audience speaks Arabic, Seedance 2.5 is the only one of the three that officially lists it today. Test a short clip before you commit to a client project.

Access and pricing

Gemini Omni

  • Free in Google Vids for anyone with a Google account
  • In the Gemini app and Google Flow, for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers
  • Gemini API model gemini-omni-1.1-flash, about $0.10 per second of 720p video. There’s no free API tier.

Kling 4.0

  • Kling website and app
  • Plans start at about $8.80/month (Standard) and about $32.56/month (Pro). These are Kling’s plan prices as of mid-October; check kling.ai for today’s.
  • Kling hasn’t published how many credits a 4.0 video costs
  • Kling 4.0 API: “coming soon”

Seedance 2.5

  • In Dreamina for subscribers over 16, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America. The United States isn’t on that list yet.
  • Developers: BytePlus ModelArk, plus partners such as fal and Replicate
  • On BytePlus, a 5-second 720p clip costs about $1.15 (about $0.23 per second). 1080p costs more than double that. (These prices come from pricing round-ups that quote BytePlus, dated October 2026. I couldn’t read the BytePlus page myself.)

API price per second, side by side

ModelAPI price per second
Gemini Omni, 720p≈ $0.10
Seedance 2.5, 720p (BytePlus)≈ $0.23
Seedance 2.5, 1080p (BytePlus)≈ $0.57
Kling 4.0No API yet

Per second, Omni is cheaper than Seedance at 720p, but Seedance gives you more length and more control in each generation.

Safety and rules

  • Gemini Omni: an invisible SynthID watermark plus C2PA Content Credentials
  • Seedance 2.5 in Dreamina: invisible watermarks, C2PA credentials, visible AI labels, and blocks on unauthorized use of someone’s likeness
  • Gemini API: editing your own uploaded videos isn’t available in the EU, the UK or Switzerland
  • Before you use any of these for client work, read the commercial terms of your plan

Errors and fixes

“Seedance 2.5 not available”: check your region and your plan. Dreamina is rolling it out only to subscribers in certain regions, so a free US account won’t see it. Developers can still reach it through the API.

“Kling 4.0 API not working”: it’s not you. Kling’s developer page says the 4.0 API is “coming soon”. For now, use 4.0 in the app, or Kling 3.0 on the API.

“Gemini Omni 4K looks soft”: that’s expected. Omni creates at 720p and upscales to 4K, so plan your shots for 720p detail.

“My Omni clip stops at 10 seconds”: that’s normal. Use scene extension, 10 seconds at a time, up to 40 seconds.

Verdict: who wins?

  • Long, controlled shots with lots of references: Seedance 2.5
  • Creators who want a full app, 30-second clips and many voice languages: Kling 4.0
  • Free start, easy editing and the cheapest API per second: Gemini Omni

My tip as a developer: if you’re adding video to a Laravel or Next.js app today, start with the Gemini Omni API, because its docs and pricing are clear. Keep Seedance for when a client needs longer shots.

FAQ

Is Seedance 2.5 free?
Not really. In Dreamina it’s for subscribers in certain regions, and on the API you pay per generation (about $1.15 for a 5-second 720p clip on BytePlus).

Can I use Kling 4.0 through an API?
Not yet. Kling’s developer page says the 4.0 API is coming soon. Kling 3.0 is available on the API today.

Does Gemini Omni make real 4K video?
No. It generates at 720p by default, and Google’s docs say 1080p and 4K are upscaled.

Which one is cheapest for developers?
Per second of 720p video on the API, Gemini Omni (about $0.10) is cheaper than Seedance 2.5 on BytePlus (about $0.23).

Is Seedance 2.5 available in the US?
ByteDance’s Dreamina rollout lists Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America, not the US. API access through BytePlus and partners is the route for developers.
